The Unaccredited Seer

We are all fascinated by the grand and mystique art of future predictions. This art has attracted many muggles and great wizards towards it. In the 3rd book the POA we were first introduced with the art of divination, which has existed from the time of the great pyramids. In the Harry Potter series divination is considered as a puny subject and Sybill trelawney (prof. of divination) as a fraud. But through the book Sybill has given us proofs that she is truly the descendant of one of the greatest seers of all time Cassandra trelawney.

Sybil in the 3rd year predicted that one of them would leave the divination class, which Hermione did. She also predicted that Lavender should be careful of Ron, in the 6th year Ron gave lavender an emotional set back. Then in the 5th year she warned Umbridge that she was in great danger and she was quite right as in the end of the years she was indeed in grave danger. Then in the 6th book she said to Harry that she could foresee that devastation and destruction was just around the corner in form the ‘lighting struck tower’. Apart from this her great skill in divination help her make two great prediction about Voldemort’s fall. But still she is not given the credit she deserves by JKR. Is JKR trying to keep our attention away from Trelawney? Trelawney’s expertise in the art of divination can make her an important character in the 7th book.

Fellow warlock Paracelsus,

Your theory on Trelawney shows that her words ought not to be taken lightly. It makes her an important asset in the seventh book but it is also sort of gloomy as she always predicts that Harry will be dead...

Fellow sorcerer,
Your theory on Trelawney seems a fine piece of work. Your theory though I believe has missed out on something. Do you remember when she talked about the Lightning struck tower, she also said another thing? Yes, she said that Firenze told her that she was quite humorous!!So if we go by the centaur's words then we reach to the same argument that the tower did not pay host to any tragedy at that time and old D is indeed not yet dead but alive and kicking!!
